Erik Michael Boss is committed to community first. Community first, that's Boss.

This phrase is more than just a slogan; it is a commitment to be in relationship with the community that shaped Erik into the person running for elected office today.

Erik is a class of 2011 Plainsmen graduate and state champion in  track and field. He moved back to Laramie in 2025 to raise his growing family. He and his wife have two children, one who is two years old, and the second born just before July 4. 

Erik believes the people of Albany County have a right to self-determine the stewardship of community resources, especially the rights of private land owners and downstream neighbors. As county commissioner, Erik will seek to hear the voices of the community and balance that with the wisdom of local elders and experts, centering the dignity of the People. Passionate about listening to the community, collaborating with people across the aisle, and fostering a strong relationship with local agencies, Erik will work tirelessly to represent all county residents. His experience includes being a life-long member of the working-class, organizing for social justice, and building a sustainable community. When Erik  returned to Albany County after completing education in Chicago, he became one of the founding members of the Young Democrats of Wyoming. He previously organized with the Faith and Justice Collective in Chicago and with Bring Chicago Home, a progressive tax legislation.

As a  rostered Lutheran minister,  Erik believes in the separation of church and state, yet the core teachings of his religion drive his sense of justice and care for life. Erik is committed to not only the well-being, but thriving, of all living things; from people of every background, to the environment, and animal well-fare. 

Community is where sustainability starts, and Erik is committed to ensuring access to all people for what they need not only to survive, but to thrive.
